Exactly, Joan, I have to pack my suitcase! And of course I will tell you all about meeting Michael and seeing him onstage. I am also very much looking forward to seeing Connie!

Actually, I nearly left it until too late to buy my train tickets to travel this Friday. Now I have to travel first class. Very posh! It does add an extra amount to my travel expenses but never mind. At least I'll get food on the train and don't have to stop to eat in London.
While I was at the railway station there was a large group of soccer fans causing chaos. One had thrown a smoke-bomb, and everybody was coughing.
There was a massive police presence and ambulances. Part of Cologne railway station had been fenced off to keep the fans at bay. I have never seen anything like that before.

Gordina

P.S. I must modify this. The police used a smoke bomb to calm down a riot among the soccer fans. One of them had lighted a firework.

I had a bit of an LA-feeling in Miltion Keynes. There was nothing there but office buildings, streets and car parks. The centre of the town was reduced to a massive shopping centre and a supermarket across the road.
As I asked people for the theatre, some wanted to send me into another direction, all the others didn't know where it was. Then I found someone who did, and everything was easy. My hotel truly was within walking distance to everything.
On that weekend there was a craft show in the shopping centre, and I bought a few folding cards showing a bluebell forest from an artist named Thomas Moore. He gave me permission to use it as a book cover. So it was an all-round successful weekend.

I forgot to say that Connie dressed up as a cat for Halloween. She looked really nice! Lydia Baker who played Gretl was also Daisy Harper in Casualty. I pointed out to her that we both knew Simon.

Milton Keynes is an amazing place, isn't, Gordina?
So many big glass buildings, you could easily get lost. :o

We got a taxi from the railway station otherwise we would never have found the theatre in time.
A kind gentleman sitting on a bench told us about the buses and we got a bus back to the station after the show.
We did find somewhere near the theatre to have some lunch, but didn't have time to look round the shops.

The craft show sounded wonderful, Gordina, and the cards showing a bluebell forest. The picture will make a lovely book cover. :)
